ANNOUNCEMENT TO MEMBERS IN RESPECT OF ANGELSEY RACES IN JULY 2009.
It appears that some confusion may have existed amongst drivers at the Angelsey Meeting in July this year.
The published calendar of Championship Events for 2009 listed 3 races at Angelsey.
In the weeks before the event the Committee met to discuss the entry and at the date of the meeting there were insufficient entries to justify the block booking fee for track time that the club had made (€6,000). Accordingly the Committee renegotiated the entry for the event down to a driver entry fee of £350 with a slot for 2 races and practice.
An e-mail was sent out to drivers stating that there would only be two championship events over the weekend. Unfortunately it appears that this e-mail was not received by all drivers.
When we arrived in Angelsey we were informed that because the Legends would not be racing there was room in the program for the HRCA to have 3 races.
The Committee met on 20th July to discuss whether to allow 2 or 3 races to count towards the Championship. Given that there was genuine confusion amongst members and in order to provide the most equitable solution to the issue the Committee has decided that all drivers competing at Angelsey will be given the points from their best two races.
The Committee regrets this confusion and hopes that the drivers will agree that the solution proposed will represent the fairest way to deal with the matter.
