Hi Folks,
With all the doom and gloom, bad news and depression here is something to brighten up your life. On the 23/24th. May next the Corse De Cote St.Goueno is once again been held on a 2 mile hill in central Brittany,I competed here in 2006 and despite some mecanical gremlins had a wonderfull time ,the hill has a great surface and is suiteable for any type of car.the large paddock which backs on to the main spectating area has all facilities . This a big sporting event in the area and draws up to 10,000 spectors over the weekend.
The format is practice on Sat 23rd.May followed by a lavish reception and meal in Le Moulin hotel near by,Sunday is race day followed by prize giving and a meal in the town hall .I have spoken to John Lyood who is involved with the organising club and he has extended an invitation to us paddies.
At present we have a commitment from 6 drivers to travel and Alan Kessie will take a transporter or three depending on numbers at a cost of approx 500 eu per car,Ryan Air flights to Brittany are approx 80eu return, with lots of B@B in the area, or tow your own from Rosslare/Roscoff at approx 400eu with 2 passengers .
You can see some videos of the hill on U Tube.I have to get back to the club by mid March with numbers,so if you think its for you or want any more info let me know or call me at 0872359224.PS for the ladies who may not be interested in the motoring side of things there is a cookery school (english speaking) in the nearby 16 century Kerrout House and the are organising classes on Sat and Sun.Check out the hillclimb web site http://coursedecote-stgoueno.fr/ .
