The HRCA was formed in 1984 and runs a series of events under the auspices of Motorsport Ireland both in Ireland and the UK. Our Mission today is the same as it was some 24 years ago:
‘’To Promote and Preserve the racing of Historic Cars in Ireland.’’
Our series competitors race both saloon and sports cars of the 60’s and 70’s with a newly introduced class for Pre ’55 and Pre War Cars.
To see if you could be racing with us in 2009 click on the Technical Regulations section on the Home Page.
Events are held at permanent race circuits (Races) and also at speed events on closed public roads (Hillclimbs).
Current membership boasts nearly 100 members with 50% of these being actual racing members .
The Race Championship consists of 12 races during the season, March to October. Mainly consisting of rounds at Mondello Park, Kirkistown Northern Ireland and Anglesey in Wales.
Our varied Hillclimb Championship takes in Venues from Wexford to Donegal. Hillclimbs are a real challenge with much competition but are incredibly social weekends, so why not try one?
The Highlight of our racing calendar would probably be The Phoenix Park Motor Races (www.ppmr.ie) in August each year. We consistently field the biggest grid of the weekend and the very thought of 30 Classic Sports cars heading to the first bend is quite a sight to behold.
So what are you waiting for, get in contact today and share with us your passion for Historic Motorsport in Ireland.
We look forward to hearing from you.
